Introduction to SPSS
(2 half-day sessions)
Designed for users who have no experience of using SPSS but who are familiar with statistical methods, particularly with inferential statistics. By the end of the course participants should be able to create an SPSS file, apply some data management techniques and perform basic statistical analyses. The format is very hands-on.
Introduction to Statistics using SPSS
(5 half-day sessions)
The course is designed for users who have little understanding of statistical methods and wish to apply statistical techniques in practice. By the end of the course participants should be familiar with basic statistical concepts and methods, and be able to create an SPSS file, apply some data management techniques and perform basic statistical analyses. The format is very hands-on.
Statistics from Scratch with SPSS
(8 half-day sessions)
Designed for users who have little understanding of statistical methods and wish to apply statistical techniques in practice. This course largely covers the same topics as the 'Introduction to Statistics using SPSS' course but will allow more time for consolidation.
By the end of the course participants should be familiar with basic statistical concepts and methods, and be able to create an SPSS file, apply some data management techniques and perform basic statistical analyses. The format is hands-on and will allow plenty of time for questions and SPSS practice. Participants will be assigned a short exercise after each session for completion before the next session. All participants will be expected to attempt each exercise.
Fundamentals of Statistics
(8 half-day sessions)
The course is designed for users who have little understanding of statistical methods and want a more comprehensive insight into statistical procedures. Statistical concepts are introduced with simple examples and at each stage participants will be given the opportunity to reinforce their understanding by performing pen & paper / calculator exercises. Time for revision and consolidation are included. Use of a statistics package is not part of this course. The focus is upon participants understanding statistical concepts and methods.
Getting more out of SPSS
(1 half-day session)
Designed for users who have some experience of using SPSS. By the end of the course participants should be able to use SPSS more efficiently and improve the look of their output, particularly tables. The format is very hands-on. All participants will receive an SPSS workbook.
